Een allerlaatste foto voor dit jaar en het is uit een erythritol oplossing. Na een aantal dagen met de smelt methode gewerkt te hebben ben ik nu weer bezig om kristallen te laten groeien uit oplossingen. In dit geval is dat erythritol opgelost in water en ethanol.

Het duurde even om deze kristalvorming te achterhalen en te herhalen. Het is nog niet helemaal zoals ik het eerder zag, maar misschien moet ik de verhoudingen tussen beide stoffen nog wat bijschaven.

Naast het oplossen van stoffen in bijvoorbeeld water of alcohol, om ze vervolgens te laten kristalliseren kun je de stoffen ook direct smelten. Op een kookplaatje is het makkelijkst. Dat levert soms spectaculaire kristallen op. Nog uit te zoeken welke stoffen ik hier gebruikt heb.
Vanochtend heb ik uitgezocht welke stof of stoffen ik nu precies gebruikt had. Erythritol en Ureum dus.
